Great victory by the Indian Cricket Team in the soil of Australia

March 5, 2008 · 11 Comments

4th of March will be written with golden words in all history books that have a mention of Indian cricket! Reason? India had won a one day tournament for the first time on Aussie Soil.

I was very unlucky as I was not able to witness the match. I had to come to the office. Though some time I was looking at the scorecard. The match was very thrilling.

India batted first and our master blaster Sachin palyed a very vital knock of 91 in the 2nd final. I have to say that he played a winning knock in Sydney (117 not out) and helped India to take a lead in the 3 match final. But there was no other way except to win as world’s best captain told before the finals that “Who will win the first match also win the 2nd match and there will be no necessity of playing the 3rd final. And I know which team will do this”. So India did exactly what Ponting (Remember the best captain) said. Here are some of the exiting moments from the match:

1) Harbhajan yet again took the wicket of Symonds (one of his friends, is he!! )

2) In the 2nd innings a streaker came on the field. Symonds hit the man with his body and the person fell down. Though Symonds was freed from any penalty!!

The last over was too exciting. Australia needed 13 runs in 6 balls. Pathan was asked to bowl the last over. And he stood to his captain’s expectation. He showed the maturity of a 35 year old even though he he is just 23. Pathan took 2 wickets in the last over and at last India won the match. The match was set for a tight finish and it was indeed a tight finish.

Wow!!! Such an exciting match!

Three cheers for India. Hip hip hurrah!!!! Hip hip hurrah !!!! Hip hip hurrah !!!!

Man of the match (2nd final ): Pravin Kumar ( 10 wickets in the series in 5 matches with two man of the match awards)

Man of series: Nathan Bracken ( 18 wickets )

India pull off incredible win at Perth

January 19, 2008 · 8 Comments

India recorded one of their most amazing Test triumphs overseas when they beat Australia by 72 runs in the thrilling third cricket Test to snap the champion team’s record 16-match winning streak here on Saturday.

harbhajan.jpg

Set 413 to win a world record 17th Test in succession, the Australians were dismissed for 340 to allow the spirited visitors to reduce the margin to 2-1 in the four match series with one full day to spare.

Not many had given the Indians any hope at the WACA, regarded as the fastest pitch in the world, but Anil Kumble and his men came out firing on all cylinders to not only pull off a sensational victory but raise hopes of levelling the series.

The Indians celebrated wildly and hugged each other after R P Singh castled last man Shaun Tait, bringing an end to a dramatic Test which saw fortune fluctuating from one team to the other on the four days.

It was a remarkable show of character by the Indians who did not allow the acrimonious events of the Sydney Test to affect them as they went about plotting the demolition of the champion team.

Michael Clarke, who has struggled to find his peak form in the series, was the highest scorer for the Australians with 81 while Michael Hussey (46) and captain Ricky Ponting (45) were the other notable performers.

With the hosts reeling at 253 for eight, tailenders Mitchell Johnson (50 not out) and Stuart Clark (32) used the long handle to good effect to give the Indians some anxious moments.

India struck by super Symonds

January 2, 2008 · 1 Comment

Hope u all know that 2nd test between India vs. Australia has been started from today. Australia won the toss and elected to bat first. India started well and took some early wickets. RP Singh took 4 wickets out of the 7 wickets India has taken. India was able to break the opening partnership when the Australia’s score was very low. Then ausie captain Ponting and middle order batsman Hussey took the responsibility and batted very well and made 55 and 41 respectively. After the dismissal of Ponting and Hussey Andrew Symonds came and rules the Sydney cricket ground with his 137 (Not Out) and he got the support of Brad Hogg. He also played a brilliant nock of 79 in just 102 balls. Now at the end of the day total score of Australia is 367/7. Both the batsman Symonds and Brett Lee are still in the crease. Let’s see what happens tomorrow.

That’s all from the latest happenings. Have a great day. Now see the video.

239 Of Our DADA ( The Real Fighter )

December 12, 2007 · 9 Comments

This is a very good moment for Sourav Ganguly as he has scored a maiden double century in test cricket. After a long time our DADA made this 200. I am the happiest person in the world now( More than Sourav ). Hope you all know that I am a big fan ( May be AC) of Sourav Ganguly ( somebody says me that I am a blind fan of Sourav). But I feel proud to be a blind fan of sourav.

You all know how he was dropped from Indian team and he could not play for more than one year. That was a very disappointing moment for Sourav Ganguly and all his fans. He went through a very tough time. But he came back with lot more determination and confidence and good news is that he is the highest run getter among all the indian players for both version of cricket ( One day and Test ) in 2007. Already he has made more than 1000 runs in 2007. Only jack kallis is there who scored more than 1000 runs in 2007. And his batting average is also praiseworthy.

This has become possible as the name of the Cricketer is Sourav Ganguly. The royal Bengal Tiger of Indian Cricket. No other cricketer could not come back like the way DADA has come back to the Indian team. Now his bat is talking with all his critics.

There is lot more to say about DADA. But do not want to say more. Otherwise you people will not read the blog post. :)

Now watch the Video and enjoy.

Some Records In 2007.

1000 Test runs in 2007

Our “Dada” Sourav Ganguly scored a brilliant 48 in just 64 balls and hit 8 boundaries and Sachin Tendulkar also scored 56 in 110 balls and also hit 9 boundaries. Kumble bowled very well in both the innings and took 7 wickets and also declared Man of the match. In this test match Kumle’s captaincy was noticeable and he used his bowlers very intelligently. Sourav Ganguly also had some good contribution in the bowling department. He took 3 wickets and was also very economical.
